Winter
- Booties and closed backs for coverage.
- Thick linings such as sheepskin, shearling, or wool pile.
- A firmer outsole if your floors are cold.

Summer
- Slides and scuffs with an open heel.
- Lighter linings, or none: cotton, terry, linen, or thin leather.
- Light outsoles such as EVA.
In between
A wool or felt slipper, or a lightly lined moccasin, often works across seasons.
Near heat
Keep slippers away from heaters, fireplaces, and open flames.
