Memory foam
Memory foam is a polyurethane foam that softens with warmth and slowly returns to shape. In slippers it is usually an insole layer. How it feels, and how long it keeps its feel, depends on the foam and the design.
Fleece, sherpa, and faux shearling
Polyester pile fabrics made to feel soft and warm. "Faux shearling" and "sherpa" are names for pile that looks like sheepskin.
Synthetic uppers and soles
Many slippers use synthetic uppers such as polyester knits or polyurethane coated fabric, and synthetic outsoles such as rubber compounds or EVA foam.
Reading the listing
Describe what is in the slipper, not what it promises. If a brand describes a pair as vegan, that is the brand's description: "The brand describes this pair as vegan." If you are sensitive to wool, latex, or other materials, check the label and the maker's materials list before you buy.
